On June 3, 2019 we will enter a new moon phase in the zodiac sign of Gemini. Like all new moons, this is a season for planting seeds. This is a time to start anew. This is a time to give it a spin. Its time to get up and go.

The energy surrounding this new moon is flipping a switch. There’s a buzz in the air.  There’s a sense of impending movement. The final bounce on the diving board.

June 2019 is a numerological 9 month. In Numerology, 9 represents a wrap up. Its that point when you have a birds eye of a subject and it’s various nuances. The point of understanding where you don’t get pigeonholed into one facet of something, but appreciate everything about it as a whole. It’s a place of mastery. Its right before a final completion or a test.

As a collective, we have moved into an energy of action. We get it now. Let’s do it and do it right. With this moon being in Gemini, and Mercury in Gemini still, there’s a sense of doing and also communicating.

Gemini is a mutable air sign ruled by Mercury. She loves to communicate and she loves to explore the deeper and higher notes. He is very outgoing and a great conversationalist. He can be a little hard to pin down, however. He tends to be more focused on “airy” logic and not so much emotion. Geminis are often called two faced or having two minds or two sides to them. They really just have a lot of thoughts and it’s hard for them to focus on something once it bores them and can vacillate. They like excitement. They like change. Unevolved, Gemini can be prone to gossip and flippancy. She represents the duality in us all and how to play with the dark and light energy. She also represents the battle of intellect and how we truly feel.

Mercury is still in Gemini until the middle of the week when she moves into Cancer.  This may be a week for a big conversation or communication on an idea or whatever new new you have in your head. I decided to start some kind of internet publication during last years Gemini new moon!

Overall, there’s a lot of ideas buzzing around. Some great, some not. Gemini rules mass communications so pay attention to what’s being reported and circulated. Check the finer details. This energy can also make us prone to discussing small minded things and maybe repeat something we know is false when we hear it just for conversation’s sake. With the energy of propulsion in the air, an ill advised verbal blowout may surface.

A little softness for all this air and wordiness, Venus, is in one of her home signs, Taurus, bringing in some grounding earth energy.  This energy will pull you towards something stable and safe. What feels like home? What fills your heart? However, Venus can be kind of Taurus’ devil on the bull’s shoulder. We need something down to earth this season, but it may come in the way of comforts too.  You may feel extra hungry. You may feel like indulging in all that feels good. You may feel like making your environment pretty. You may want to make a purchase that is a physical representation of your growth and abundance. The dance will be in how much of the impulsive air energy will you let overpower what is bringing you back down to earth?

Among other planets, Jupiter is in retrograde still and it will have a calming energy to all this, bringing in a master’s approach and worldly understanding of where you are and where you have been. Jupiter will help us see the forest from the trees. It will help slow down that restless Gemini energy.

This new moon is a good time to set plans in motion for what you want to accomplish this summer or the rest of the year. Time to dream and take the physical steps.

On May 18, 2019 we will enter a Full Moon phase in the zodiac sign of Scorpio.  This moon is also known as the Buddha Moon and was called the Flower Moon by Native Americans. This moon will also be considered a “blue moon,” although only in name. The popular concept of a Blue Moon is when there are two full moons in one month.  The traditional Blue Moon is the third of four moons in one season, which is occurring  this month.

Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and is a sign about death and birth- the phoenix rising from the ashes. Scorpio is a water sign that feels deeply and can be quiet intense.  Scorpio is also a fixed sign meaning they can be very stuck in their ways. Scorpio’s emotions fester and that water element has a tendency to come to a boil-needing to let out steam.  A moon in this sign is usually about bringing what is hidden to the surface and highly emotional. What is at the point of boiling over? What latent emotion needs to come to the surface? What are you keeping inside that needs to be expressed?Full moons are about endings and culminations of our labor.  This moon will be no different.

The namesake of the Buddha Moon is a nod to the death/rebirth of the Buddha when he gained enlightenment- leaving his role as a prince to seek something more.  An old self dying and re-birthing the man we know as the Buddha. The Flower Moon is representative of Flowers blooming around this time.  Flowers boom in place of what has passed on.

The sun will be conjunct Mercury  and oppose the moon in Scorpio during this phase. Mercury rules communication and thought. This aspect will create a need to communicate and express ourselves.  It will create a conversation between logic and emotion bubbling up.  Combined with the heavy emotional energy of Scorpio, there may be an urge to communicate in an impulsive emotional way.  However,  the sun is still in Taurus, who is not a sign known for being impulsive (even though she can be a bit harsh in her delivery of truth).  The aspect to Taurus will provide a softening energy to the Mercury aspect, bringing in a sense of observation and needing to gain perspective before speaking/acting. It will help ground and create stability with the emotion that may come up.

Coinciding this moon we currently have three planets in retrograde.   Pluto and Saturn are currently retrograding in Capricorn and Jupiter is retrograde in Sagittarius. These energies have already caused a lot of shakeup in the astrology world, but will also affect the energy of this moon phase.

Pluto rules Scorpio and is a planet about the unseen, shadow, and subconscious. Pluto is about bringing the truth to the light- she is a keen investigator.  She has been retrograde since April 24th.  You may have already experienced an unearthing of what was buried-even what you didn’t even know was buried. With this retrograde in Capricorn, an earthy, practical, and hardworking sign, Pluto might expose the areas where you need more joy. What latent desires are not being fulfilled. Maybe you are focusing too much on work and being practical and not enough on play.

Saturn is also retrograding in Capricorn, which is her ruling sign.  Saturn is the planet of karma.  Saturn is also about the day to day obligations and responsibilities of life. When she is in retrograde, what you may have been neglecting in your life will come to forefront.  The obligations you have been avoiding will start to nudge you to address them. You may experience an upheaval in your day-to-day routine and work-life.  If you haven’t been treating others well and being dishonest, that energy will likely come to roost during a Saturn retrograde. Saturn will also highlight areas we are being oppressed or being oppressive. It can also expose problems in family dynamics and structure.

Jupiter is retrograding in his home sign-Sagittarius. Jupiter is the planet of luck, success, and wisdom.  When she is retrograde there may be an urge to travel, learn something new, or seek new experiences.  Sagittarius is all about fresh, new, and adventure.  There may be an urge to make sudden changes due to a desire for something bigger and better.  It may be best to take a step back and evaluate before making any new big moves.  Once Jupiter goes direct you may not be so happy with any major life altering changes you made during the season.

Probably the biggest energy influence on this moon of the planets in retrograde will be Pluto in Retrograde, since Pluto rules Scorpio.  Pluto is only one degree from Mercur. This energy will push us to go deeper on what needs to be seen and communicated. Hard conversations may come about around this moon.

There are a lot of intense energies around this moon.  Trust that what may not be staying in your life, was not meant to be there.  Be open to having the hard conversations-some long needed heart to hearts may be ignited. Be mindful of your emotional state and how that needs to be expressed and what needs to be addressed.

Cement like air coupled with a nervous energy to act- an aggressive antithesis of annoying proportions.

This is a busy week in astrology.  On March 20, 2019 we enter a Full Moon phase in the zodiac sign of Libra- coinciding the astrological new year or Spring Equinox in the northern hemisphere.   This moon is also a super moon, piggy-backing a Mercury Retrograde in Pisces. This mix mash of energy will push us forward to inevitable culminations- the messy way in some cases.

Libra is a sign about partnership ruled by Venus- the goddess of love. Venus also rules aesthetic and passion. Libra is a very relational sign and likes to communicate. Libra is very diplomatic, likes balance, and is great at seeing all points of view. Libra can also be indecisive and spiteful. Heightened sexual energy or a need to connect with other people will be a strong aspect to this moon. Connection to friendships, lovers, family, situations, and things will come into focus.  How can balance be brought to these partnerships? What relationships no longer bring balance? What do you need to separate from? What do you wish to align with?

Tribes of the American Indian called this moon the Worm Moon. Earthworms start appearing in the grass bringing in the sounds of spring tweeting. Northern American tribes called this the Full Crow Moon-when the crows began cawing in the tide of spring.

The Spring Equinox is the astrological new year. New beginnings. New growth. Seeds to be planted. Those are all the themes and archetypes of this period. The winter season has culminated so has a season of your life. Time to walk forward in a new direction. Who and what will join us on this path is a major part of this moon. What do you want to create?

So we have had three super moons this year.  A super moon is when the moon is at its closest point to earth. This moon is the closest thus far and will have a pink hue in some parts of the world.  Not only does the moon appear larger in the sky, it intensifies the energy of the moon.  Emotions are heightened. People may be impulsive, yet the air feels like pea soup thanks to Mercury in Retrograde.

Mercury is currently retrograding in Pisces. Mercury Retrograding in Pisces is a very uncomfortable place for Pisces. She is a dreamy, spiritual and emotional sign-prone to fantasy and illusion. Mercury is a sign much more about action, intellect, and also governs communication. Mercury pushes Pisces out of the fantasy- to get into the day to day reality.  Mercury Retro is generally known for miscommunications, travel mishaps, bad driving, botched expectations, malfunctions, sluggish movement and plans going awry. These mishaps can seem to cut to a deeper level happening in Pisces. It may seem like you are misunderstood or not able to communicate effectively.

So people aren’t communicating well, driving like maniacs, and everyone is horny. Let’s add a magnifying glass of a super moon- making it all seem like more than it seems.

Now, I’m not saying lock yourself in your house until 21st when the full moon energy will peak, but slow down.  Don’t color your hair. Don’t make any drastic changes on impulse. Wait a few days. Take your time in getting to where you’re going. Double check. Re-read. Pay attention. Listen to your intuition and check in with your emotions. Try not to take anything too seriously.

Working with this energy and paying attention to what it can bring up within us and around us is key to growing through any moon phase. In full moons, we are examining the fruit of our labor. The culmination of the seeds we have planted and where things need fine tuning- culmination with the super moon and Spring Equinox will seem more intense.  Libra and Venus energy will bring a focus on partnership pushing us to reach out for connection. Mercury in retrograde asks us to be conscious of our words, listen to our intuition, pay less attention to what is verbally said and not getting caught up in illusion.

On March 6, 2019 we will enter a New Moon Phase in the zodiac sign of Pisces. This moon is going to be a new beginning on a deeper level- to bring in greater healing and understanding of ourselves and others. This moon is also coinciding a Mercury Retrograde and Uranus moving into the zodiac sign Taurus. These energies along with aspects to Neptune, Saturn, and Mars will bring in a deep sense of who we are and where our spiritual growth has brought us.

Pisces is a water sign ruled by Neptune. She is highly compassionate, sensitive, and often highly intuitive and spiritual. She is very giving and loyal-often sacrificing her own needs for those of others. Pisces loves to dream and tends to have a very optimistic point of view. However if un-evolved, Pisces can over-give, play the martyr, and be detached from reality.

In the Tarot, Pisces is represented by The Moon card of the major arcana.  This card represents subconscious, illusion, and the messages our dreams are trying to tell us. An overarching theme to this new moon will be attention to the inner voice that is demanding to be heard.  It is also about breaking down illusion and walking away from areas of life that we have become dillusioned. Pisces is also the last sign of the zodiac. Pisces season can signal final wrap-ups and endings. With all endings there are always beginnings.

What old stories keep bubbling up that cause destruction in your conscious awareness? What is it you need to let go of? What is it that you need to heal?

This moon will be conjunct to Neptune, which will also square Saturn.  Neptune rules Pisces and is a planet about spiritual enlightenment and spiritual yearning.  You may feel more in tune with the world around you and feel desire for more. A deeper understanding of yourself and where we hide our deepest shame and disappointment may come to the surface as well.

The square to Saturn will feel like a bit of conflicting energy to Neptune and Pisces.  Saturn energy is somewhat opposite of the dreamy spiritual focus of Neptune-he is all about practical matters and physical reality.  This aspect will push us to look deeper and question what is beyond the daily grind of life.  We may find areas of our lives where we are bored and needing to be revitalized.

There will also be an aspect to Mars pushing us to take action on these areas to make needed changes. Mars can be aggressive and assertive, but Pisces and Neptune will add some love and calm to this harsh energy. It will guide and facilitate Mars in a compassionate way- giving you the courage to take a leap of faith-say what needs to be said, and let go of hurtful and toxic cycles without judgment and blaming.

Uranus will be moving into Taurus during this New Moon phase. Uranus was in Taurus for a brief period in 2018 before retrograding into Aries, but will be in Taurus until 2025 beginning around this new moon.  Uranus is a planet of revolution, break-ups and shake ups. In Uranus’ brief visit in Taurus last year, the world began to explore alternative currencies such as crypto currency. When Uranus was last in Taurus, the world experienced the Great Depression and the beginning of World War II. Despite, the strife incurred in that period of history, it forced world governments to enact ground breaking legislation and infrastructure to aid flailing economies and poverty. Remember the New Deal?

Mercury Retrograde is a famous astrological event causing disruptions in communication, technology, and relationships that happens multiple times a year. This new moon also coincides the beginning of this retrograde season.  Mercury in retro forces us to slow down and pay attention to intuition, which is what Pisces is all about.  Areas of miscommunication and conflict may arise around areas of needed deeper healing in our relationships and relationship to self. Pay attention to conflicts and situations that arise. Words can have muddled meaning in this season. The challenge will be to focus on what you feel more over what is said. Words may hold confusion and illusion. Often with retrogrades, the past may resurface in varying forms.

The energies around this moon will be intense, but will give us clarity to heal relationships, old shame and pain. Its time to graduate- coming out on the other side with greater understanding and clarity. Pay attention to what comes back from the past with Mercury as this may be an area you need to tie up loose ends. Uranus moving into Taurus will no doubt bring about unexpected changes, but it is part of a greater evolution individually and in the collective.

In the wee hours of February 19th we will enter a Full Moon Phase in the zodiac of Virgo.  This moon is considered a super moon, because of the earth’s proximity to the earth.  The moon will appear large and bright in the sky (assuming its not too cloudy to view).

This moon will not only illuminate the night sky, but also bring into focus areas of our lives that need de-cluttering and reorganization-areas where the heart and mind are scattered. Where our emotions need balance.

With this moon being in the zodiac sign of Virgo, there will be an earth based pragmatism to this moon.  Virgos are one of the hardest working signs of the zodiac sign. Virgo is also a thinker and highly critical of themselves and others. You may find yourself doing an inventory of everything in your life- including your thoughts and emotions.

This moon will carry with it a burst of energy and motivation to re-work and organize goals and plans that need fine tuning. You will get the clarity on what you really want and what steps to take in getting here.

Earth energy-money, stability, tangible items will be in review during this moon.  Spending problems, needed financial moves and utilizing available resources will be highlighted.  The future expansion of resources will  be part of this as well. What practical steps are needed to move forward?

The energy around this moon will also bear a sense of compassion and loving feelings. It’s time to let go of expectations and attachment to certain outcomes and how we want life to be. Things will feel as if they have come full circle and greater understanding obtained.

There will be a quiet recognition of problems and what needs to be done to resolve those problems without any thought or conscious deliberation on what direct action is needed, thanks to Mars-ruler of action, aggression, and war. You will just get it done without much forethought. You might also feel rushed to move or speak your mind in an aggressive way.

Neptune will have an aspect to this moon creating a dreamy and whimsical feeling. Its a time to indulge in dreaming big, but also seeing a clear way to achieve your dreams- utilizing Virgo energy.  Neptune can create a fog around communication and situations.  Things may seem differently than they appear. Be careful if you’re gullable. It will be prudent to listen to your intuition and not move out of a place of fear and anxiety, which can be heightened by Mars. There might be an over-confidence, over-extending, and over-promising with a slight detachment from reality. The sun moving into Pisces will also add to this dreamlike vibe.

There will be an aspect to Mercury, since it is about to go retrograde in early March. The shadow period of Metro retrograde is here- hold ups, important communication and possible miscommunication will start around this time and culminate by the end of this Mercury Retrograde. Also, Mars can add to ruffled feathers. Pay attention to what bubbles up now as it will come full circle by the end of the retrograde period. You’ll see why certain things are at a stalemate.

With an aspect to Pluto, there is a level of death and rebirth to this moon. A feeling of shedding on old skin or completing a spiritual and practical lesson will add to the feeling of coming full circle. You may also feel a deeper sense of connectedness and flow with your world- also playing on Pisces energy.

This will be a powerful moon and emotions will run deep-setting events into motion that could change your life’s direction. This is a very active time in astrology with intense energy. Pay attention to common themes and synchronicity to know what to take in and leave behind during this phase.

Burrough’s message, however aggressive, is raw and sincere. As a Codependent in recovery, I know the art of being too nice and keeping someone around just to have someone around.

As my healing has progressed, I have gained confidence and love of myself. Flippancy has become less and less prevalent.

Listen, If I commit to you, I’m all in. I’m invested. I want to see you reach your highest potential. I genuinely love you and want to see you at your happiest and healthiest. I cannot be this type of friend or partner to a large number of people.

Dating around has become difficult, because I can’t invest in getting to know and develop an emotional connection with more than a couple people- tops. At this point in my life, my energy is too precious for spaceholders or blaze.

-Maybe you’re so afraid of having no one, you keep friends that don’t really match your values. “Oh, I’ve known this person forever. We’ve had such good times together. They have been such a good friend to me.” Yet you keep someone in your energy that currently mistreats you.

-Maybe you placate people that you don’t like deep down to save face.

-Maybe you blindy agree to whatever people in your life do or want, irrelevant of your own needs or wants. You accept literally anything.

-Maybe you entertain a lover, because you like their attention. Yet, you don’t genuinely care for them. Maybe you know they care for you, but you give them breadcrumbs so you can have their attention whenever you’re feeling low or no fish are biting that you really want.

-Maybe you’re trying to make someone love you, who could not care less.

Love yourself more. The above is two faced. Its fake. How can you give what you really care about quality attention if you’re giving energy to what doesn’t?

Its okay to be selective. Have a curated life. Be confident enough to grab a hold of only what you really want and okay if it doesn’t grab back. Its also okay to say no or change your mind.

Fuck ambivalence.
